Review: Selling On Zazzle

There are a number of sites online such as Spread Shirt and Cafepress which allow you to sell your own designs on the Internet for a commission. Another site which seems to becoming increasingly popular is Zazzle.

Zazzle’s range of products is more limited than Cafepress but the site is adding to the lines it offers and the range of products that Zazzle offers is still extensive. Currently, you can add your designs to shirts, stickers, posters, prints, bags, badges, mugs, aprons, cards and invitations etc. but they don’t offer products like journals which you can get on Cafepress.

Once

you’ve signed up, you can start to design your store and add a range of products that you would like to sell. You can add images and then choose which design to put on which product. This process is straight forward and doesn’t take long to do. I’m still working on designs but I’ve put some up to see how they look and I’m pleased with how everything looks so far.

Payments are subject to a 30-day clearance cycle. So if you were to earn money in June, it would be paid to

you in August. You need valid tax information in order to get paid, and payments are made once you’ve reached the default 50.00 if you have PayPal as your payment option or $100.00 if you would like to be paid by cheque.

However, you can request payment before you reach the required levels but you will incur a $2.50 charge if PayPal is your payment option or a £5.00 fee for a cheque payment. As well as the Zazzle.com site, Zazzle also has sites in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and if you sign up to one of these you will be paid in that country’s currency. If you sign up to the UK site then you can get payment in Euros as well.

Zazzle is easy to use and allows anyone to sell their own designs. This is a great site for people just starting out in design and for gaining an audience for your work.
